This will very much depend on the installation as to whether we are installing a new heat emitters (radiators/underfloor heating UFH) and if it is to do heating and hot water. To just replace an existing say Mitsubishi heat pump we could look to supply and install a heat pump of theirs for 4-5k. However if we are putting in a cylinder for hot water and upgrading most of the radiators then it might cost 14-16k. If it were a new build and it was having all new UFH, radiators and controls and it was very large this price can be upwards of 20k. However with the current Boiler Upgrade Scheme you can get 7.5k back as a grant from the government if installed and commissioned by ourselves as we are Microgeneration Certification Certified MCS.

For a simple system which does not integrate with solar ...

The boiler upgrade scheme is a government scheme for most home owners whereby you can get up to £7,500 towards the cost of installing a heat pump. As MCS accredited installers we have access to this grant and so this can make the cost of installing a heat pump and switching from fossil fuels much more attractive and available.

In most instances Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels are not able to be repaired and if they are older often the best option is to disconnect them and take them out of the system. If it is a solar hot water (thermal) panel, then in some instances the evacuated tubes can be replaced, but if they are flat plate then the panels are normally not repairable.

Most solar PV panel systems have a 15-25 year product warranty and so if installed correctly you should need any repairs for a long time. Solar thermal panels might need a bit more repair work due to having moving parts and we advise servicing solar thermal once a year ideally.

Solar PV systems are pretty much maintenance free. However we can offer a health check should the performance have reduced since its installation. For domestic installations we charge £210+vat and for commercial it costs £270+vat. Electrical installations should often be checked for safe use and so we do advise this for solar pv and battery systems. Solar thermal hot water systems should be serviced annually and we charge £170+vat. This service includes: Checking system settings; Checking glycol levels; Ensuring system is safe including checking tprv and prv; Ground level visual inspections of outdoor panels, visual inspection of plant room; Checking pressures in system and expansion vessels.

If your solar panel has broken you might need to isolate the supply to either the inverter or the pumping system. Once you have done this please get in touch so that we can arrange a repair or replacement.

Currently we charge £170+vat to service air and ground source heat pumps. This includes: Cleaning filters and evaporator where necessary; Checking system settings; Checking glycol levels; Ensuring system is safe including checking tprv and prv; Visual inspections of plant room and manifold chamber where possible and necessary; Checking flow rates where possible; Checking pressures in system and expansion vessels.

The major problems with heat pumps are with the design and commissioning of them. Once they are installed correctly, provided they are maintained they don't have any more major problems than a gas boiler would have. The life of heat pumps is often longer than gas boilers and so should be relatively trouble free.

This depends on the quality of the product. If you have a Myenergi Zappi system then it is likely we would be able to repair it, however some cheaper brands like Podpoint it is unlikely we would be able to repair it.

Domestic EV charger rarely fail, however commercial chargers are failing because they are not properly maintained. For instance the Tesla Supercharge network normally has all of their chargers working because they have engineers looking after them.

We work on all aspects that are associated to a renewable system and so this can include radiators, ufh, cylinders, electrical distribution boards, fuses, isolators etc... However we do not undertake any work outside of renewable systems generally.

Solar panels come in three main types: monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and thin-film. Monocrystalline panels are highly efficient and space-efficient, made from single-crystal silicon.
